Punjab, Islamabad win in U-16 Baseball

LAHORE: Punjab and Islamabad registered their victories on the opening day of the Pakistan Sports Board Inter-Provincial Baseball Championship here on Saturday.

Defending champions Punjab outclassed North West Frontier Province (NWFP) by a fine margin of 10 goals to nil. Sameer Zawar, Omair Bhatti and Waqas Ismail scored two goals apiece while Ahsan Baig, Muhammad Jabran, Muhammad Kashif and Rizwan Shafique were the other scorers. Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) went down 10-1 to Islamabad in the second match of the day. Punjab will face AJK while Islamabad clash with NWFP on Sunday (today).
