4,000 Sikh pilgrims arrive for Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary

LAHORE: Around 4,000 Sikh pilgrims arrived from India on Sunday at the Wagah Railway Station by special train to attend the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Jee.
The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and Pakistan Sikh Gurdawara Parbundik Committee (PSGPC) welcomed the Sikh pilgrims on behalf of the government. Chairman ETPB Pir Muhammad Banguish, additional secretary (Shrines) ETPB Azharul Hassan, deputy administrator ETPB Faraz Abbas and president PSGPC Sardar Mastan Singh were among the welcoming party.
The government has made arrangements for the lodging and traveling of the Sikh pilgrims. The main event of the festival will be held at Gurdawara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on November 26 while the religious rituals will be observed at Gurdawara Dera Sahib, Eminabad, Gurdawara Sacha Sauda, Farooqabad and Gurdawara Punja Sahib, Hassanabdal.
