US official calls on Dareshak

Staff Report

LAHORE: United States Consular and Political Officer Deborah Z Grout called on Punjab Finance Minister Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dareshak on Wednesday and discussed with him resource distribution among the four provinces and poverty alleviation.

Mr Dareshak told Ms Grout about the mechanism of resource distribution and other steps taken by the Punjab government to alleviate poverty. He also informed Ms Grout about welfare programmes to improve living standards.

The minister said the representatives of the four provinces would participate in the National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting to reach a consensus on distributing resources among the provinces.
