Musharraf arrives in Jakarta
JAKARTA: President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Jakarta, the third leg of his foreign tour, on Wednesday. The president is scheduled to address the opening session of a two-day Afro-Asian summit in Jakarta on Friday.
On April 24, the president will attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the 1955 Bandung Aslam African Conference. Delegates from 105 countries will attend the three-day conference. The moot is expected to stress better economic and trade ties between Asian and African countries.
President Musharraf is also going to meet Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoono to exchange views on bilateral and international issues. In its capacity as the ASEAN chairman, Indonesia played an important role in securing Pakistan's membership of the forum. online
