PPP leader stopped from going abroad

KARACHI: Munawwar Ali Talpur, brother-in-law of Asif Ali Zardari, was not allowed to proceed to Dubai on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Bilawal House said when Munawwar Ali Talpur, husband of Faryal Talpur, came to Quaid-e-Azam International Airport to board an Emirates airline flight (EK 603) to fly to Dubai, an FIA official told him he could not go abroad as his name had been placed on the Exit Control List.

The spokesman claimed that when Mr Talpur asked the FIA official to show him the official orders, he failed to do so. He said Benazir Bhutto had been informed of the incident. He added that Mr Talpur was go to London from Dubai. staff report
