Khyber Medical College professor accused of human-smuggling

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency Passport Cell on Wednesday arrested a Khyber Medical College Peshawar professor for suspected involvement in human trafficking.
According to the Passport Cell investigation officer, an Afghan couple Yousaf Khan and Sidra were deported by British law enforcement agencies from Manchester.
They were arrested by immigration staff when they returned to Pakistan. During the preliminary investigation, the couple confessed that they had paid Rs 800,000 to Raheem Bux, a professor at the Khyber Medical College, for fake documents.
Passport cell officials arrested the professor near his home in Peshawar.Authorities also fined Pakistan International Airlines GBP 6000 for allowing the couple to board their plane using fake documents.
