Crackdown on profiteers
LAHORE: The executive district officer for revenue, accompanied by a price control squad, has raided 424 shops and booked 46 traders for over-charging.
A press release issued on Wednesday said that the squad fined 30 shopkeepers for not displaying rate lists while 168 shop owners were fined for over-charging.
The deputy district officer (DDO) for revenue raided 35 shops and fined them Rs 41,263 for violations.
The Cantt DDO raided various places in Aziz Bhatti Town and fined 16 shopkeepers Rs 72,500 for over-charging. An inspection team led by the district labour officer challaned 20 shopkeepers for keeping tempered weighing scales.
