Kohat tunnel named Pak-Japan friendship tunnel
ISLAMABAD: Kohat tunnel has been officially named the Pakistan-Japan friendship tunnel because it is the manifestation of the two countries’ friendship, said Colonel Tehsin, National Highway Authority general manager, on Thursday.
The tunnel was constructed with modern technology and is 1.8 miles long and 7.3 meters wide and cost five and a half billion rupees, Mr Tehsin told reporters. He said vehicles carrying heavy luggage were going to the Khyber Adam Khel and Peshawar from Kohat. Mr Tehsin said lighting in the tunnel had been provided through solar light and heavy jet engines had been installed for ventilation. online
