Film producers assured solution to problems
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa has assured the Punjab Film Producers’ Association (PFPA) that the government would take necessary measures to resolve the issue of reduction in the entertainment tax. An eight-member delegation of the PFPA, led by its chairman Mian Amjad Farzand, called on the chief secretary at his office here on Monday.
Secretary Information and Culture Taimur Azmat was also present. The chief secretary said the number of seats in a cinema would be protected and retained if the cinema was converted into any other commercial entity. He said the government was working on a proposal that in future all commercial plazas would have mini-cinemas for entertainment purpose. —Staff Report
