Education projects in progress: minister

MIANWALI: Provincial Minister for Mineral and Mines Sardar Sibtain Khan, while presiding over a high level meeting, said work on the eleven projects including construction of new educational buildings was in progress.

The minister said the total cost of these eleven projects was estimated at Rs 2.3 million and funds of Rs 1.1 million had so far been released.

He said in order to raise the literacy rate of the district it would be essential to provide all government educational institutes with proper fascilities.

Minister approves funds to repair shrine: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has approved funds for the repair of the shrine to Mian Sultan Zikriya and directed the Auqaf department secretary to submit a compliance report, said district Nazim Humair Hayat Khan.

The nazim said the funds were approved at the request of Sahibzada Mian Alamgir Shah, ‘Matvali’ of the shrine.
