Rs 5m fund for journalists lying idle in NWFP
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Union of Journalists (KUJ) appealed on Monday to the chief minister of the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP), Akram Khan Durrani, to take personal interest in the disbursement of five million rupees that was lying in an endowment fund for the union.
The union expressed regret that so far the fund’s committee has only held two meetings in regards to the fund. The meeting was chaired by KUJ president Sajad Haider. The meeting also demanded the chief minister restore the quota of working journalists at the Department of Journalism, Peshawar University. —Staff Report
