PML-N slams rise in oil prices
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary Finance Muhammad Pervaiz Malik has criticised the rise in petrol prices by saying that the government had burdened people instead of bearing the international price rise itself.
The increase would adversely affect the economy and consumers, he said at a party meeting on Thursday. He said the government should check the increase because it would result in prices of daily necessities going up. The secretary finance said that petrol prices were expected to go up further because of the situation in Iraq. He said that the government should look for an alternative source of energy and reduce its administrative expenditure. Savings in this regard should be used to control the rise in oil prices, he added. staff report
