No-confidence against my deputy will fail: speaker

Staff Report

SIALKOT: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain said on Tuesday the opposition would lose the no-trust motion against the deputy speaker, as it had lost the no-trust motion against him.

Talking to Daily Times here at the Civil Rest House, the NA speaker said the Legal Framework Order (LFO) was a part of the Constitution and all political parties had contested the general elections under it. He said the opposition should discuss matters of public welfare rather than protest against the LFO.

Chaudhry Ameer said Persident General Pervez Musharraf’s US visit was a ‘good omen’ that would help Pakistan develop through financial assistance. He said the government would complete its tenure as people liked and supported President Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali.
