Govt can’t threaten MMA, says Noorani
Staff Report
KARACHI: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) President Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani said on Tuesday that the MMA leadership had nothing to fear from the government’s ‘pressure tactics’.
Talking to Daily Times at the office of the World Islamic Mission, he said the government had launched an “operation” against MMA parliamentarians by getting its Kohat MNA declared disqualified on “dubious grounds.”
He said the election tribunal’s decision against Mufti Abrar Sultan would be challenged in the superior courts.
“We will not give up and will fight for our true cause,” he said.
He said there were more seminary degree holders in the PML-QA than in the MMA.
