Transferred officers take charge

KARACHI: Finance Secretary Malik Asrar Husain took charge of his office on Tuesday after Additional Finance Chief Secretary Fazalur Rahman was transferred to Islamabad.

Assistant Executive Engineer Hafiz Safdar was transferred on Tuesday to the chief minister’s house and took charge of his office, a chief minister’s house spokesman told Daily Times.

Seminar on Indus flow: The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Centre for Information (CIR) is organising a seminar “Indus Flows Downstream Kotri Barrage: Need or Wastage” in Lahore on July 10, said the CIR in a press release.

The issue of Indus water flow downstream Kotri Barrage has assumed center- stage in the distribution of the Indus water to the provinces, especially as a result of a decision taken by IRSA that Sindh and Punjab would share water flowing downstream of Kotri Barrage. A wave of concern has swept across civil society, especially among millions of people living downstream of Kotri Barrage.
