Decision on joining MMA protest after consultation, says Qasim
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Punjab Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians President Qasim Zia said the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy leadership would decide if his party would protest against disqualification of an MMA’s candidate’s in the National Assembly.
He said martial law prevailed in the country under the veil of democracy and the present government was leading the country toward destruction by restricting the judiciary. He said the puppet government led by Mr Jamali only supported the policies introduced by Gen Pervez Musharraf, adding that his party along with other opposition parties had launched a campaign to restore the sanctity of the parliament and democratic society.
He also said the opposition MPAs were being victimized. “There is an ample proof that Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi ordered the opposition members be thrown out the provincial assembly,” he added. Mr Zia condemned the statement by the chief minister that it was the need of time that Gen Pervez Musharraf must retain his uniform.
