Man killed in road accident
Staff Report
LAHORE: A middle-aged man was killed and his two friends were injured in a road accident in Sattokatla police precincts here on Tuesday.
Aslam, 30, was on his donkey-cart with two friends, Muhammad Hanif and Yasin. When a speeding van hit the cart on Canal Road. Aslam suffered severe injuries and died instantly. His friends were rushed to Jinnah Hospital. Aslam’s body was handed over to his family without autopsy.
Man strangled: A strangulated body of a man was found at his residence in the Naulakha police limits on Tuesday.
Muhammad Sultan Ahmad, 70, had been living alone in his Australia Chowk residence for the last around 40 years. His neighbours found his body lying on the floor of his room with blood streaming from his nose and ears. The body has been removed for autopsy.
Truck-driver electrocuted: A middle-aged truck-driver died of accidental electrocution in Baghbanpura police precincts here on Tuesday. Noroze, 40, was driving in the Salamatpura area when his truck got entangled in electricity wires. Noroze tried to free the truck from the wires but received a fatal electric shock. The body was handed over to his family without autopsy.
Cop dies from his wounds: A police constable who was short and injured by robbers and admitted to hospital a month ago died from his wounds on Tuesday.
Muhammad Amanat was on his duty at Jorra Bridge when he tried to stop two men and a woman, on which they opened fire at him, injuring him seriously.
Drug addict dies: An unidentified middle-aged man was found dead in Nolakha police precincts here on Tuesday. A police duty officer said the deceased was a drug addict and died of a heroin-overdose. The body was sent for autopsy.
