Punjmin to earn Rs 16m by June

LAHORE: Punjab Minerals and Mines Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan on Thursday said the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Punjmin) was set to earn about Rs 16 million by the end of June against the projected target of Rs 9.7 million that was set for the current fiscal year.
“Efforts will be made to recover the corporation’s stuck up receivables,” he said while chairing 60th board of directors meeting of the Punjmin here. Punjab Industries Secretary Shahid Rashid, Punjmin Managing Director Arshad Bhatti and the board members attended the meeting.
Punjmin had been collected Rs.10 million during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, he added. The minister said an exhibition of products carved out of rock salt would be held abroad to boost exports of the items. Products such as salt lamps, candles and ashtrays would be put on display. The board also approved an increase in the Punjmin employees’ allowances.
