2 die in road accidents

KARACHI: A young pedestrian was killed when he was hit trying to cross the busy Shahrah-e-Faisal here on Thursday, police said.

Police arrested the driver of the bus belonging to the Navy. But it is not clear whether the accident took place because the bus was speeding or the 35-year-old victim, Noor Ahmed Jan, chose a wrong point to cross. There is an overhead pedestrian bridge at the Nursery area, the site of the accident. A 23-year-old woman going to work in the Landhi industrial area was killed as she got down from a minibus.
