Bush aide visits Jawad office
LAHORE: Dr Amanullah Khan, member of President Bush’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, visited noted singer Jawad Ahmad’s Taleem for All Trust (education for all) office, a press statement said on Thursday. The statement said Dr Khan was impressed by the programme of the trust. Dr Khan said, “The people of Pakistan lack only one thing and that is education. We need to provide quality education to our masses to enable them to become useful citizens of a progressive nation. The only way to achieve this goal is to take it as a mission and devote our energies towards this end.” Dr Khan welcomed the trust’s emphasis on non-formal education. He said the idea of Teachers Training Center for Non-formal Education was the most significant step towards spreading universal primary education in Pakistan on emergency grounds.
