Online verification system for ID cards in offices
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool said on Thursday the Punjab government would be introducing an online verification system of computerised national identity card’s antecedents in the public dealing government offices. The National Database and Registration Authority deputy managing director, meeting with Mr Rasool, said the online verification of computerised ID cards would provide the front and back images. He said the system would also provide other details of the individuals and the particulars of the person who attested the form at the time it was issued. However, the online service would only be accessible to government departments, he said. Mr Kamran directed the authorities concerned to ensure complete secrecy while introducing the verification system in public offices. Provincial finance, excise and taxation, zakat and usher, home and information technology secretaries were also present. —Staff Report
