ARD leaders decide to attend Indian reception
ISLAMABAD: The Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has decided to attend a reception on January 4 in honour of Indian Premier Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Serena Hotel.
Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Shiv Shankar Menon will host the reception. Several party parliamentarians have been invited. ARD sources said the party had received a formal invitation from the Indian high commissioner.
“We have decided to attend the reception and we will certainly go there,” sources added.
Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) sources said Members of the National Assembly Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Chaudhry Aitezaz Ahsan, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and Senators Farhatullah Babar, Mian Raza Rabbani and Enver Baig have also been invited. “All of us will attend the reception,” PPPP sources said. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) sources said Members of the National Assembly Begum Tehmina Daultana and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar and PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq have been invited. “The PML-N will also attend the reception,” party sources added. —Shaukat Piracha
