‘WAPDA must expand to address growing needs’
LAHORE: Dr Salman Shah, financial advisor to the prime minister has asked the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) to expand power generation capacity to address the rising electricity demands of Pakistan’s growing economy.
In a meeting at WAPDA house, Dr Shah said the government expected the economy to grow 8 percent this year. He said that the government was focusing on power-related projects in order to meet the growing demands of electricity from the rejuvenated industrial sector, electrified villages and increased number of domestic consumers.
Dr Shah said WAPDA must invite private companies for project financing. staff report
