Contract given for computerisation of LDA record

LAHORE: HAWK Telecom has been awarded a contract to computerise the record of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the inaugural ceremony of the LDA record computerisation project will be held on May 20 (Friday), said Mian Amer Mehmood, district nazim, at a meeting held at LDA Plaza on Wednesday.

Elimination of corruption from rural and urban areas is top priority of the Punjab government, the nazim said. The district government has already begun computerising birth, death and revenue records, which has proved helpful in solving people’s problems, he added. Computerisation of the LDA record will save people from unnecessary delay and wastage of money in sale and purchase of land, Amer said.

Representatives of the telecom company briefed the nazim on the computerisation of the LDA record. The nazim directed the company to put the LDA record on a website so the people could access it from anywhere. staff report
