Elahi orders recovery of holy slippers
LAHORE: Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has ordered an investigation for the recovery of the stolen Naalain Mubarak, a pair of slippers believed to have been owned by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
He was talking to a delegation of clerics, led by Mufti Rafi Usmani, on Wednesday. He said that once the Seerat Academy and Quran Complex was completed, it would help promote the teachings of Islam and provide clerics with research facilities.
Elahi said that the Punjab Quran Board had been established to ensure quality printing of the Holy Quran, arrangements for the collection of old manuscripts and to implement the Quran Act of 1973. He said that the board included representatives from all schools of thought. He said that clerics had reached a consensus on the issue of recycling copies of the Holy Quran. app
