Manufacturing 2-stroke rickshaw to be banned from July 31

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to ban completely the manufacture of two-stroke rickshaws from July 31, Punjab Transport Minister Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan said on Wednesday.

Talking at a meeting with Akira Utsumi, Suzuki Motorcycles chief executive, and Mudat Azeem Qidwai, Suzuki Motorcycles chairman, the minister said rickshaws would be banned from the roads by December 2007 in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi. app
