Catholic body demands arrest of bishop, others

KARACHI: Catholic Association General-Secretary Daniel Allah Rakha expressed his concern on Monday over the incident in which the administrator of the Brenton Carey Hostel, Ghazala Shafiq, was allegedly stripped and beaten by a Christian group on April 11.
In a press release, the Catholic Association demanded arrest of Bishop Sadiq Daniel, government official Shahzor Shamoon, George Bhatti, Zafar Iqbal and others who were allegedly involved in the incident.
It also condemned the registration of FIRs against Ghazala Shafiq and announced that a rally would be held outside Karachi Press Club on April 20 to express solidarity with her and the other women who had been allegedly abused by the Christian group.
