Timetable of India-Pakistan peace talks
ISLAMABAD: Following is list of key dates laid out during talks between India and Pakistan:
March 8-9, 2004: Talks on Kashmir bus service.
March 29-30: Talks on a bus service between Pakistan’s southern Sindh province and India’s northwestern Rajasthan state.
March or April: Border security officials meet to discuss technical issues on coordinated patrolling to combat smuggling and drug trafficking.
May: Experts discuss nuclear confidence building measures.
May or June: Foreign secretaries discuss the disputed Himalayan territory of Kashmir.
June: Committee meets to consider cooperation efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling.
July: Talks on terrorism and economic cooperation.
July or August: One-day meeting of the foreign secretaries to review progress.
August: Summit between the foreign ministers of the two nations. —AP
