Rs 150m for Ganga Ram subway

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi approved a grant of Rs 150 million for the construction of a subway in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to help patients moving from the emergency area to the main hospital building.

Principal of Fatima Jinnah Medical College and Principal Executive Officer of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Prof Dr Muhammad Akbar Chaudhry said on Wednesday that the subway will connect the emergency area with the main hospital and college buildings.

He said that construction of the subway will start soon. He added that the chief minister and health minister have shown a keen interest in improving medical facilities at the hospital.

He said that medical equipment worth Rs 90 million was being procured to equip operation rooms, intensive care units and coronary care units to ensure that specialised medical treatments are available to patients. —APP
