Youth festival at Alhamra ends

LAHORE: The Young Performers Festival closed on Saturday at Alhamra Cultural Complex after seven days of performances by different schools of Lahore.
The closing ceremony, organised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), was host to throngs of young souls who had gathered to witness performances by the prizewinners of different categories.
Bushra Ahmed of Divisional Public School (Girls senior) won the first prize for the solo folk song while Qazi Grammar bagged the first position for the group national song. Esena Foundation stood first in tablo category. In the solo folk dance, Hafiz Shafique of Government Central Model School, Samanabad won the first prize and The Educators (Sahar Campus) took the first prize for the group folk song. The first prize in Urdu plays went to Salamat ICAS and in English plays went to two schools, Esena Foundation, Gulberg and Customs Public High School. In the solo national song the first position was bagged by MI Gothen Burg School.
