Haj processing system to be launched

ISLAMABAD: Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, federal information and technology (IT) minister, directed the Electronic Government Directorate to develop a project for the automation of a Haj processing system. According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, the minister said the IT Ministry had recently approved Rs 30 million for the system.

The project involves the establishment of a software system for the Haj wing of the Religious Affairs Ministry, which would become a point of access for all major services, said the minister. Under the system, Haj camps and liaison offices in Saudi Arabia would be linked with the Hajj wing of the Religious Affairs Ministry with updated information being attainable from any location. staff report
