Two cops and 2 suspects killed in shootout

KARACHI: Two policemen and two suspects were shot dead in an encounter in Chandio village near Punjab Colony in Frere police limits on Tuesday night. The police, on a tip-off, went to arrest a close aide of Rahman Dakait, Sharif Pechu, who was hiding at Leo Car Wash in Chandio village.

The police raiding party were in plain clothes. When the suspect saw the raiding party, he and his accomplices opened fire on them. The police returned the fire and in the exchange of fire ASI Asif Awan, police constable Zafar Marwat, Fareed Chandio and Shakeel Chandio, were shot dead.
