PPPP wants Attock nazim arrested for killing workers
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has demanded the arrest of all those nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) of the murder of three PPPP workers in Fateh Jang on Monday, including the Attock district nazim.
At a press conference on Tuesday, PPPP Secretary General Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accused Attock District Nazim Major (R) Tahir Sadiq and his colleagues of involvement in the murder. Raja Pervaiz said that although the relatives of the deceased had lodged a complaint, it was doubtful that the FIR was registered. He said the police had refused to give a copy of the FIR to the party workers.
He said the police was warned of a possible conspiracy to murder PPPP workers in advance, but no precautionary measures were taken. He also alleged that the car used by the killers had a Pakistan Muslim League flag on it.
He said the crime was committed to sabotage the ongoing electoral process in the constituency and to harass the opposition supporters. “District Nazim Major (Retd) Tahir Sadiq ordered the murder,” he added. MNA Naheed Khan, who co-addressed the press conference, said that the president, the prime minister and the prime minister-designate were equally responsible for the murders. She warned of a countrywide protest campaign in case the culprits were arrested.
