Lawyers strike against Shaukat Aziz today

LAHORE: Lawyers will observe a ‘black day’ today (Wednesday) to condemn the ‘subversion of the constitution and parliamentary democracy’ through the nomination of Shaukat Aziz as prime minister.

The Joint Action Committee, a representative body of lawyers, gave the call for the black day. Lawyers will hoist black flags on the offices of bar councils and bar associations building and will wear black arms bands.

In Lahore, lawyers will assemble at the Lahore High Court Bar Association office where a protest meeting will be held. staff report
