PM to inaugurate UN conference on corruption on Tuesday
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will inaugurate a 3-day International Conference on the United Nations’ (UN) Convention Against Corruption, being held by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at the Convention Centre.
President Gen Pervez Musharraf will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the international moot on April 22.
In the inaugural session, NAB Chairman Lt Gen Munir Hafeez will present the opening address, followed by speeches by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and a special UN representative.
During the moot, participants will discuss better public participation, enhanced international cooperation against corruption, formulation of policies and their consequent implementation.
The conference will also hold a detailed discussion on the two-page case study of Pakistan vis-à-vis corruption. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will take the participants to some sightseeing places around the capital. —Online
