KKH opens for traffic
ISLAMABAD: The Karakoram Highway was opened on Thursday for one-way traffic after nine days’ closure because of torrential rains and landslides.
According to a spokesman for the Frontier Corps, rehabilitation work for the people affected by the flood and rain was in full swing in the calamity-hit areas of the country. The KK Highway was closed on February 6 between Gilgit and Rawalpindi at 25 points because of heavy rain, snowfall and landslides which caused great travel difficulties for the public. All sorts of traffic remained suspended during this period. nni
