5 militants caught in Riyadh
RIYADH: Saudi police have arrested five suspected militants following a shootout that killed a policeman, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
Quoting an unidentified Interior Ministry official, the agency said the clash took place on Tuesday in Al-Qassim, 355 kilometres northwest of Riyadh, the capital. The official said two of those arrested were suspected terrorists, adding that one was severely wounded in the shootout that also killed one policeman and wounded eight others. Police seized automatic rifles, pistols, pipe bombs and ammunition from the militants, plus computers, communication equipment and more than 38,000 riyals ($10,000). ap
