Three-year-old girl raped and killed in Pindi

ISLAMABAD: A three-and-half-year-old girl was raped and killed by an accused in a thickly populated area of Qasimabad, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday. The people of the area helped the police arrest the accused rapist when he was trying to board a bus at Pirwadhai Bus Stand. Mohammad Ibrahim, the resident of Qasimabad, lodged a report with Westridge Police Station about the missing of his minor daughter, Fatima. He said that his daughter who had gone outside the house to play with her friends did not return after many hours. Police sources said that the accused, Mohammad Sarfraz, a resident of Bannu who was living in a hired room in the area, lured the girl and took her into his room and raped her. The girl was critically injured and later she succumbed to her injuries. The accused disposed off her body outside a deserted house and fled. A passer-by spotted the body and informed the police. Police officials and Fatimah’s father rushed to the spot where the latter identified the body. The body was shifted to the hospital for an autopsy. According to an initial medical report, the girl died due to rape. People arrested the accused at Pirwadhi when he was embarking a Bannu-bound bus.
