PIA starts ‘Air Safari’
LAHORE: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started a 90-minute ‘Air Safari’ flight from Islamabad to and along the Karakoram Mountains.
Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal inaugurated the maiden safari flight. The safari started with the coordination and consultation of tour operators, Tourism Ministry, and other stakeholders to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
The inaugural flight carrying Tourism Minister Ghazi Gulab Jamal, Chairman PIA Tariq Kirmani, tourists, diplomats, representatives of tour operators and PIA senior officials took off at 10.00am from Islamabad and hovered over the Northern Areas of Pakistan and the Karakoram Mountains before landing at Skardu Airport for a brief stop. staff report
