14 prisoners call off hunger strike
MULTAN: Fourteen prisoners called off their hunger strike on Wednesday while 48 prisoners continued their strike for the eleventh day at Central Jail Multan.
These prisoners, who belong to banned militant groups Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Sipah-e-Sahaba, have been on a hunger strike since June 6. They are demanding that they be treated the same as other prisoners.
Teams of doctors, who have been examining the prisoners, have declared that the condition of 12 prisoners was critical and 36 others were continuing to lose weight. staff report
