Ishrat opposes Musharraf’s picture on currency notes

LAHORE: Dr Ishrat Hussain, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) governor, has opposed publishing President General Pervez Musharraf’s picture on the proposed Rs 5,000 currency notes.

When asked whether the Rs 5,000 currency note would have the picture of the president, the SBP governor said, “How is it possible?” The governor also said the proposed currency notes could be issued on August 14 or December 25. staff report
