APHC leaders reject Delhi’s talks offer
SRINAGAR: Kashmiri Liberation leaders have rejected New Delhi’s offer to resume talks, saying that they need a formal offer.
The reaction came a day after Indian Home Minister Shivraj Patil said that he was open to talks with all Kashmiris including liberation leaders, Kashmir Media Service reported on Wednesday.
Senior Hurriyat conference leader Shaikh Abdul Aziz said in a statement that if a formal invitation was extended only then could it be considered.
“But till that time, it means nothing to us,” he added.
Aziz said, “Talks have to be held to resolve the Kashmir issue with the consent of the Kashmiri people, and the talks should be tripartite.” app
