‘Let us smuggle in peace’

<>iStaff Report

PESHAWAR: Around 24 physically handicapped Afghans, who smuggle tea and cloth from Khyber Agency to Peshawar on hand-propelled tri-cycles, protested what they termed “police harassment”.

“Those who smuggle contrabands in trucks are not checked but the police harass and demand bribes from us,” said Fazlur Rehman who was protesting police harassment in front of the Peshawar Press Club. He said people like him were unable to get employment and were earning a living by bringing tea and cloth from Tribal Areas to Peshawar city.
