Troops in 11 Punjab districts a preventive step
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday denied that the army had taken charge of 11 districts of the Punjab during Muharram.
The ISPR spokesman in a statement said troops had been moved only as a precautionary measure to those areas which the civil administration had indicated as sensitive.
He said the troops would remain available at short notice and could be employed by the civil administration to assist civil law enforcement agencies.
