Multan Institue of Cardiology near completion: minister
LAHORE: The construction of the Multan Institute of Cardiology is in final stages and the out-door patient department (OPD) will be functional in June this year, said Col (r) Shujha Khanzada, the provincial minister for Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, on Wednesday. Khanzada inspected the under-construction building and directed the contractor to speed up work to complete the project on time. He also directed the district coordination officer to check the quality of the building material. Khanzada was told that the institute was being built on 62 kanals of land with a cost of Rs 1 billion. The 200-bed hospital will have the latest diagnostic equipment. The minister said people of southern Punjab would not have to come to Lahore anymore for the treatment of heart diseases with the completion of the Multan’s cardiology hospital. He said that the government, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, was taking steps to provide basic healthcare facilities to the people of Punjab without discrimination. app
