Police to fine motorcyclists without helmets from March 1
LAHORE: All motorcyclists travelling without helmet will be fined from the first of March without any discrimination in the city, said Faisal Hussain, the Lahore superintendent of traffic police, on Wednesday. He said the law would be fully enforced despite shortage of policemen. “We have set up four camps at Sadar, Cantt, Model Town and City and have provided 25,000 pamphlets to each point to distribute among people to aware them about the hazards of not using helmet, he said. The SP said that they were also running a campaign through the electronic media in this regard. He said that the use of helmet was not only a legal issue but also helped motorcyclists avert head injuries in case of an accident as most of the motorcyclists die due to head injuries in accidents. app
