Security around gas pipelines tightened
LAHORE: Security in the city has been tightened after a gas pipeline blast in a sports ground in Wahdat Colony there was no casualties, sources told Daily Times on Wednesday.
They said that all divisional superintendents of police (SPs) have been ordered to strengthen security measures around gas pipelines across the city to avoid any untoward incident.
Talking to Daily Times, Raja Riffat, the Lahore SP for Security, said that main junctions were already being monitored but authorities were concerned because of the recent blast in Wahdat Colony. He said that all the points were being monitored and additional police units had been deployed to maintain security.
