Three-day air show begins at Walton Airport

LAHORE: 50 different aircraft will participate in the three-day air show at the Walton Airport on Friday (today). Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Kamra Aircraft Manufacturing Factory, Pakistan Navy and Army flying clubs and general aviation organisations will participate. Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and Ultralight and Sports Flying Club (USFC) have organised the show which will be inaugurated by the Chief of Air Staff Chief Air Marshal Kaleem Saadat. AOPA President Mohsin Syed said the show would include displays of six-seater single and twin-engine aircraft, aero-modelling and aerobatics by Mashak aircraft. Mr Mohsin said the air show aims to enhance quality aviation and would help generate greater interest among aviation enthusiasts. He said the AOPA and USFC would also encourage businessmen to buy their own aircraft which will enable them to expand their business throughout the country and create job opportunities for pilots, aeronautical engineers and technicians. The AOPA and USFC have set up a Civil Aviation Authority certified engineering and flight operation system to make the purchase and operation of aircraft easier. —APP
