Government is taking steps for traders’ welfare

PESHAWAR: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Sunday that the central government was taking a number of steps for traders’ welfare.
Talking to a traders’ delegation led by Anjuman-e-Tajran Mardan President Ehsan Bacha, at People’s House, Mr Sherpao said that prudent economic policies of the government had improved production capacity and the country’s foreign exchange reserves had reached $13 billion. The interior minister also told the delegation that the government was taking steps to eradicate poverty and increase employment. People would get basic facilities at their doorstep, he added.
Mr Sherpao said that all resources would be utilized to crush those elements trying to cause disturbance in Mardan. The traders in the district would be given full protection, he added.
He also informed the delegation about the plans to set up a separate women’s counter at National Database and Registration Authority in Mardan and to establish an office for machine-readable passports.
