People warned against throwing debris on roads

LAHORE: Cases will be registered against people who throw debris on roads during the reconstruction of domestic and commercial buildings in the city, said Rafique Jattoi, Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) district officer, on Sunday.

He said that the assistant district officers had been directed to keep on a lookout for such people and register complaints in police stations. He said that the SWMD had decided to take action against commercial buildings if sanitation fees were not paid. He said that sanitation fee defaulters would be challaned.

Jattoi said that the department was working on an action plan for flood emergencies. He said that field staff had been assigned targets to complete the plan. app
